Cheap Hawai Hotels
I am back in Honolulu for business and staying at the Ala Moana Hotel this time. Normally, I stay at the Ambassador Hotel. The Ala Moana Hotel is a much fancier place than the Ambassador Hotel for sure. It’s a much newer property and is now managed by Outrigger Hotels. The rooms are very modern and nicely appointed. The elevators work very fast and the location next to the Ala Moana Shopping Center just can’t be beat. It is so convenient a place to do shopping and to get meals. All you have to do is walk down the ramp to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and you’re there. Plus I got a very good deal on the hotel room. The only thing I didn’t quite like was the parking situation. The parking in the basement seems to be very limited and cramped. I guess all hotels in Hawaii share a similar fate. The parking rate seems to be in line with rates in other hotels at around $20 a night. On the other hand, the parking rate at the Ambassador was only $15 a night and the rooms were a lot larger.
I think you can get some deal on cheap Hawaii hotels, like the Ala Moana Hotel on a number of travel websites, including some local ones, like this one named discount Hawaii hotels at www.discounthawaiihotels.com. I have heard that room rates in Honolulu and Waikiki, in particular, have gone up recently, but my experience at Ala Moana Hotel; tell me you can still get some deals on cheap Hawaii hotels if you look hard enough.
